LONDON (Reuters) - The opposition Labour Party’s lead over British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s governing Conservative Party has increased to 18 points, according to an opinion poll published on Saturday.
A national election is expected later this year. The poll, conducted by Opinium Research, predicted Labour would take 43% of the vote, versus 25% for the Conservatives.
Its previous poll had given Labour a 16-point lead.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) -Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz demanded on Saturday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commit to an agreed vision for the Gaza conflict that would include stipulating who might rule the territory after the war with Hamas.

TORONTO (Reuters) - Residents of the Canadian oil town threatened by an out-of-control wildfire can return home, authorities said Saturday, even as they warned the community will have to contend with the blaze for the foreseeable future.
Thousands of residents of Fort McMurray, in northern Alberta, had been ordered to leave their homes earlier this month. But favourable weather made a return home possible.
