PARIS (Reuters) -Three people were injured in a knife attack in the metro in the French city of Lyon on Sunday, authorities said.
A suspect was arrested, the local prefecture and a deputy mayor said.
"Our thoughts are with the three people injured," Mohamed Chihi, a deputy mayor in charge of security, said on social media platform X.
There was no immediate information on the identity of the attacker or any possible motive.

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistani authorities have arrested 11 Islamist militants who were involved in the suicide bombing that killed five Chinese engineers in March in the north of the country which borders Afghanistan, officials said on Sunday.
The announcement was made at a news conference held by Pakistan's counter-terrorism chief Rai Tahir along with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

DUBLIN (Reuters) -Twelve people travelling on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Ireland were injured during a bout of turbulence, Dublin Airport said on Sunday, adding that the plane landed safely and as scheduled.
Flight QR017, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, landed shortly before 1 p.m. Dublin time (1200 GMT), the airport said.

DUBAI (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia appointed a new ambassador to Syria on Sunday, state news agency SPA said, the kingdom's first envoy to Damascus since the closure of the Saudi embassy there in 2012 during the Syrian civil war.
Riyadh's new ambassador to Syria will be Faisal Al-Mujfel, SPA said.
Saudi Arabia reopened its embassy in Syria earlier this year after the two countries cut diplomatic ties more than a decade ago.
