MONTERREY, Mexico (Reuters) - Former Mexico City mayor and ruling party candidate Claudia Sheinbaum's lead has narrowed slightly ahead of Mexico's presidential election scheduled for June 2, an opinion poll showed on Friday, even as she remains the clear frontrunner.

(Reuters) -At least 50 people have died in Afghanistan in flooding following heavy rain in the northern province of Baghlan on Friday, a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior said, adding that the death toll may rise.
Ministry spokesman Abdul Mateen Qaniee told Reuters that there had been flooding in more than five districts in Baghlan after heavy rains and that some families were stuck and in need of urgent help.

(Reuters) -McDonald's is preparing to launch a $5 meal deal at its U.S. restaurants to lure more inflation-hit customers back to its chains, Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing a person familiar with the matter.
The deal could include a McChicken or a McDouble, along with fries and a drink, the report said.
Shares of the company were up 2.5% in afternoon trading after the news.

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (Reuters) - At least nine students were kidnapped from their classrooms by gunmen at a university in Nigeria's northern state of Kogi, the state government said on Friday, as Africa's most populous nation grapples with widespread insecurity.
Armed gangs have been causing havoc in northern Nigeria, where they kidnap villagers, students and motorists for ransom, with security forces unable to end the practice.
