(Reuters) - Shell shareholders on Tuesday rejected a resolution filed by a group of investors urging the energy company to set tighter climate targets.
The vote came after Shell CEO Wael Sawan weakened a 2030 carbon reduction target in March, citing expectations for strong gas demand and uncertainty in energy transition, while focusing on more profitable operations, primarily in oil and gas.
BEIJING (Reuters) - China will control the intertwined risks in the property sector, local government debt and small local financial institutions, Vice Premier He Lifeng said on Tuesday.

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - An investigation ordered by Pope Francis has cleared Canadian Cardinal Gerald Lacroix of wrongdoing after he was named in a class-action lawsuit that alleged sexual assault, the Vatican said on Tuesday.
The pope had asked retired Canadian judge Andre Denis to look into the allegations which were included in the lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Quebec.

LONDON (Reuters) - A Moscow court ruled on Tuesday that Russia's Investigative Committee is not obliged to investigate two attempts on the life of jailed dissident Vladimir Kara-Murza, independent news outlet Mediazona reported.
