BEIJING (Reuters) - China has more powerful countermeasures, if the United States continues to violate and endanger the country's sovereignty and security interests on core issues, or squeeze the development of Chinese firms, state media said on Friday.
The remarks came from a social media post from Yuyuan Tantian, which is affiliated with Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, that quoted sources with government knowledge on foreign policy.

(Reuters) - The crews of Russia's key fighter-bombers are conducting air exercises with their Belarusian counterparts, Russia's TASS news agency reported on Friday.
The May 27-31 drills involve crews of Russia's Su-30SM multi-role fighters, Su-24 front-line bombers and Mi-24, Mi-8 army aviation helicopters, TASS reported, citing Russia's defence ministry.

BEIJING (Reuters) -China has confirmed it will not attend a Ukraine peace conference to be hosted by Switzerland next month, four sources with direct knowledge of the matter said.
Beijing declined the invitation because the conditions for them to participate were not met, including the participation of both Russia and Ukraine, three of the sources said.

(Reuters) - A Russian missile attack on Kyiv sparked a fire in a non-residential building early on Friday, the head of the military administration of the Ukrainian capital said.
All missiles were destroyed on their approach to the city, Serhiy Popko, the head of Kyiv's military administration, said on the Telegram messaging app.
