SINGAPORE, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Standard Chartered said on Monday it had appointed Raza Jafree as global head of private client sales, as it sets up a new partnership between its corporate and investment bank and wealth unit to serve single-family offices and ultra-high net worth clients.
Jafree joined on February 2 from UBS and is based in Hong Kong. He has almost three decades of experience at Credit Suisse and UBS, the bank said.
... (continue reading...)Feb 9 (Reuters) - French power group TotalEnergies on Monday signed two long-term agreements to deliver 1 gigawatt of solar capacity to supply Google's data centres in Texas.
The power will be generated from sites owned by the French major in Wichita, and Mustang Creek in Texas. The two plants are set to enter construction in the second quarter of the year.

Feb 9 (Reuters) - European shares edged higher on Monday, tracking a rebound in global equities following a selloff last week, as investors also assessed earnings from Italian lender UniCredit and developments on the deals front.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index was up 0.5% at 620.12 points, as of 0809 GMT.

TOKYO, Feb 9 (Reuters) - The biggest landslide win in postwar history has given Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi a huge mandate to revitalise the economy, but investors say she has little room to run up deficits or pressure will be quickly back on bonds and the yen.

LONDON, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Britain's Prince William will meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia starting on Monday, an official trip on behalf of the government to deepen ties with the country.
The royal's visit follows a 2025 trip to Saudi by Britain's finance minister, which London said had unlocked trade and investment agreements worth 6.4 billion pounds ($8.71 billion).
