TOKYO (Reuters) - Bank of Japan Deputy Governor Ryozo Himino said the central bank must be "very vigilant" to the impact the yen's moves could have on the economy, suggesting the currency's weakness will be among factors affecting the timing of its next interest rate hike.

IT firm Xero launches $850 million convertible notes offering due 2031 Jun 4, 2024 04:30AM

(Reuters) - Software service company Xero on Tuesday announced it is raising $850 million by offering fixed coupon guaranteed senior unsecured convertible notes that are due to be repaid by 2031.

The move follows a recent surge in convertible bond offerings, including deals from Alibaba worth $4.5 billion and notable issues from Lenovo and JD.com amounting to $2 billion and $1.5 billion, respectively.

Creditors file lawsuit against defaulted Chinese developer's state shareholder Jun 4, 2024 04:18AM

HONG KONG (Reuters) - A group of creditors of China South City has filed a lawsuit in Hong Kong against the developer's biggest state-owned shareholder to recover $1.4 billion, according to a court filing and a source familiar with the matter.

German unemployment rises more than expected in May, labour office says Jun 4, 2024 04:04AM

BERLIN (Reuters) - The number of people out of work in Germany rose more than expected in May, Federal Labour Office figures showed on Tuesday.

The office said the number of unemployed grew by 25,000 in seasonally adjusted terms. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected that figure to rise by 10,000.

"The spring recovery did not really get going this year," said labour office head Andrea Nahles. "Improvement is still a long time coming."

Turkish military training plane crashes, kills two soldiers, ministry says Jun 4, 2024 04:02AM

ANKARA (Reuters) - A Turkish military training plane crashed in the central province of Kayseri on Tuesday, killing two soldiers, the defence ministry said.

The SF-260 D training aircraft took off from an air base in Kayseri with two pilots on board for training excercises, and crashed for an unknown reason, the ministry said.
