SHANGHAI (Reuters) -Novo Nordisk is facing the prospect of intensifying competition in the promising Chinese market where drugmakers are developing at least 15 generic versions of its diabetes drug Ozempic and weight loss treatment Wegovy, clinical trial records showed.

CANBERRA (Reuters) - Rescue efforts at the site of a landslide in Papua New Guinea are due to end on Thursday, two weeks after part of a mountain collapsed onto a remote village, a United Nations agency said.
It remained unclear how many people died in the disaster in PNG's Enga region, but the national government said more than 2,000 people may have been buried alive. A U.N. estimate put the death toll at around 670.

(Reuters) - Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms said on Wednesday it has acquired ownership of 12% stake in rival Bitfarms Ltd..
The company bought around 1.5 million shares in Bitfarms on Wednesday at the price of about $2.45 per purchased share, it said in a statement.
Riot said, prior to this acquisition it beneficially owned about 11.63% of shares in Bitfarms.

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Oil prices rose for a second consecutive session on Thursday amid growing expectations the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates in September, but the upside was capped by higher U.S. inventories and an OPEC+ plan to increase supply.
Brent crude futures traded at $78.74 a barrel by 0645 GMT, up 33 cents or 0.42%.
