MEIWA, Japan (Reuters) - When Costco Wholesale opened its warehouse in a rural Japanese town not far from Tokyo last year offering hundreds of jobs at eye-popping pay, a nearby noodle shop chain took a drastic step: it hiked hourly wages by a third.

CAIRO (Reuters) - The Hamas-run Gaza government media office said at least 27 people were killed and dozens injured in a school housing displaced persons in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip.

(Reuters) - Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms said on Wednesday it has acquired ownership of 12% stake in rival Bitfarms Ltd..
The company bought around 1.5 million shares in Bitfarms on Wednesday at the price of about $2.45 per purchased share, it said in a statement.
Riot said, prior to this acquisition it beneficially owned about 11.63% of shares in Bitfarms.
