(Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Trade Commission said on Tuesday it had referred a complaint to the Justice Department against the social media platform TikTok and its parent company ByteDance over potential violations of the Children's Online Privacy Act.
In March, a source told Reuters the FTC could resolve a probe into TikTok over allegedly faulty privacy and data security practices by either filing suit or reaching a settlement.

CAIRO/LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Yemen's Houthi militants are "believed to have sunk" a second ship in the Red Sea, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Tuesday.

(Reuters) - Johnson & Johnson is facing a new proposed class action seeking damages and medical monitoring on behalf of women who have been diagnosed with cancer, or might develop it in the future, allegedly as a result of using the company's baby powder and other talc products.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -Ford shipped out its first batch of cars from the once-ignored Guaymas port near its plant in the northern Mexican state of Sonora on Tuesday, in a project that, if fully launched, could cut its logistics costs by 30%.
The initial shipment of pick-ups and Broncos, headed for Chile, is part of a broader re-vamp of the Guaymas port, an infrastructure project headed by outgoing President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
