Peru inflation eases in May for second straight month Jun 1, 2024 11:43AM

LIMA (Reuters) - Peru's monthly inflation rate slowed for the second month in a row May to 0.09%, bringing annual inflation down to its lowest level in three years, according to data published on Saturday by national statistics agency INEI.

On a yearly basis, prices in May slowed to 2%, within the central bank's target range and below the annual rate recorded a month prior as the country shakes off the effects of the COVID pandemic and other shocks.

Boeing's woes a 'burden' for entire sector, Airbus executive says Jun 1, 2024 10:57AM

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Safety and quality problems exposed at Boeing following a door plug blowout earlier this year risk shaking travellers' confidence in flying, a top executive at rival Airbus said.

Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus' Commercial Aircraft business, told German weekly magazine WirtschaftsWoche that the issues were "a burden for the entire industry".

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party-led alliance is projected to win a majority in the general election that concluded on Saturday, an exit poll summary by the NDTV news channel said.

The summary of two exit polls projected the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) could win more than 350 seats in the 543-member lower house of parliament, where 272 is needed for a simple majority.
