(Reuters) - Severe thunderstorms, apparently spawning tornadoes, raked Iowa on Tuesday afternoon, leaving parts of one town in shambles, toppling several wind turbines and killing at least one person, according to authorities and local media.

HANOI (Reuters) - Vietnam's National Assembly on Wednesday elected its police minister To Lam as the country's new president, the biggest change so far in a major leadership reshuffle after an unusual spell of political turbulence in the one-party state.

(Reuters) - NASA again delayed Boeing's debut crewed flight of its Starliner capsule on Tuesday so engineers can spend more time evaluating a helium leak, the agency said in a statement.

NASA, Boeing and ULA will forgo the Saturday, May 25, launch attempt, the statement said, and the next possible launch opportunity is still being discussed.

LONDON (Reuters) - British police are investigating the unexplained death of a man charged earlier this month with assisting Hong Kong's foreign intelligence service.

Police said in a statement they were investigating an unexplained death having received a call from a member of the public on Sunday. The man pronounced dead at the scene in Maidenhead, southern England, was named in the statement as 37-year-old Matthew Trickett.
