BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu urged the United States to refrain from "smearing" China and to stop imposing "abusive" sanctions on Chinese companies at talks this week in Washington, China's foreign ministry said on Friday.

(Reuters) - Activist investor Carl Icahn has a sizable position in casino operator Caesars Entertainment, Bloomberg News reported on Friday citing sources familiar with the matter.
Shares of the company jumped 15% after the report.
The size of Icahn's stake in the company could not be learned, the report added.

BERLIN (Reuters) -German police said they shot and wounded a man armed with a knife who attacked a right-wing demonstration in the southwestern city of Mannheim on Friday.
