LONDON (Reuters) - There is no effective competition in core credit card services where Visa and Mastercard are the biggest players, and more transparency for users is needed, Britain's Payment Systems Regulator said in an interim report on Tuesday.

(Reuters) - German producer prices fell more than expected in April due mainly to lower energy prices, the federal statistics office reported on Tuesday.
Producer prices decreased by 3.3% on the year. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected a 3.1% decline.
Energy prices were down 8.2% year-on-year in April, due mainly to lower prices for natural gas and electricity, the statistics office said.

JENIN, West Bank (Reuters) - Israeli forces raided Jenin in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday in an operation that the Palestinian health ministry said killed three Palestinians and left eight others wounded.
The army said it was an operation against militants and several Palestinian gunmen were shot.

KYIV (Reuters) - Ukrainian forces shot down 28 out of 29 drones used by Russian forces in an overnight attack on seven regions, Ukraine’s air force said in a statement on Tuesday.
The drone attack damaged four private residences, 25 trucks and buses in Kharkiv, injuring five people, according to the region's governor Oleh Syniehubov and Ukrainian Internal Affairs Ministry's statements on the Telegram messaging app.

PARIS (Reuters) - Three senior Syrian officials will face trial in absentia in a Paris court on Tuesday accused of involvement in the disappearance and subsequent death of a French-Syrian father and his son.
