MUMBAI (Reuters) - An Emirates flight landed safely in Mumbai late on Monday night after colliding with a flock of flamingos shortly before touchdown, damaging the plane and leaving several birds dead, the airline said on Wednesday.

The Boeing 777 aircraft, flying from Dubai to Mumbai, hit the flock around 300 metres (1,000 ft) from the ground, leaving 39 of the birds dead, the Times of India newspaper reported.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian patriotic bloggers expressed anger on Wednesday over the arrest of the former commander of Russia's 58th army, who was detained for fraud, and cast him as a talented general who had the courage to speak the truth to incompetent superiors.

Sweden plans $7 billion military support frame for Ukraine in 2024-2026 May 22, 2024 03:18AM

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) -The Swedish government has agreed with its support party on a framework for additional military support to Ukraine totalling 75 billion crowns ($7.01 billion) over three years, it said on Wednesday.

(Reuters) - European stocks slipped in early deals on Wednesday as a stronger-than-expected British inflation reading dampened the mood ahead of release of the Federal Reserve's meeting minutes and AI darling Nvidia's earnings.

Ireland recognises Palestinian state May 22, 2024 03:14AM

LONDON (Reuters) - Ireland will recognise a Palestinian state, Prime Minister Simon Harris said on Wednesday, adding that he expected other countries to join Ireland, Spain and Norway in taking such a step in the coming weeks.
