(Reuters) - A new version of a bill that would restrict U.S. business with China's WuXi AppTec, BGI and other biotechnology companies of concern would allow companies until 2032 to end work with the Chinese firms, extending the amount of time to find new partners.

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Indian security forces killed at least 12 Maoist rebels in a gun battle in central India on Friday, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh state said, the third major encounter in recent weeks amid ongoing national elections.

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has registered with India's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), a senior FIU official said on Friday, as the exchange seeks to resume operations in the country.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. federal appeals court on Friday upheld the conviction of Steve Bannon, a former top adviser to Donald Trump, for defying a subpoena from the congressional panel that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Bannon was convicted in 2022 of two counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over documents or testify to the House of Representatives committee the investigated the Capitol riot.
