DOW POWERS THROUGH ALL-TIME HIGH

The Dow topped its all-time closing high of 14164.53 set on Tuesday, October 09, 2007. The popular average last traded at 14,214, up 87 points.
Many attribute the strength in stocks to open-ended quantitative easing from the Federal Reserve, although others point to strong profits, a rebounding economy and stabilization in Europe.
The top performing Dow stock year-to-date is last year's laggard HP (NYSE: HPQ). Shares are up over 40 percent since the start of the year.
A host of other Dow 30 stocks are also up over 10 percent year-to-date: JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM), Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ), United Technologies (NYSE: UTX), Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS), Travelers Companies (NYSE: TRV),Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE), Home Depot (NYSE: HD), General Electric (NYSE: GE), 3M Co (NYSE: MMM) American Express Co (NYSE: AXP).
