Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) is seeing early pressure amid recent reports that Model S sales in one key European market have failed to accelerate.
According to Germany's Manager Magazin, only 817 Tesla Model S sedans were registered via Germany's Federal Motor Vehicle Office though all of 2014. Numbers come as CEO Elon Musk previously said a goal of 1,000 deliveries per month to the country by the end of 2014.
The number amounts to about 3 percent of the German luxury-class market.
Tesla's Germany chief, Philipp Schröder, admitted that setting up a direct sales system in the country took longer than anticipated, but Tesla is maintaining its delivery goal of 1,000 per month for the market.
Shares of Tesla are down about 1 percent early.
