Takeover rumors are hot-and-heavy in the fertilizer space. Today it is Intrepid Potash, Inc. (NYSE: IPI), yesterday it was Mosaic Co. (NYSE: MOS) and tomorrow it could be PotashCorp (NYSE: POT).

Today, a report in Globe & Mail stated PotashCorp is an increasingly attractive takeover candidate as lower potash prices discourage large mining companies from starting their own mines, citing an industry analyst.
