"Anything you can do, we can do... quicker."
This may be the mantra of Samsung as it continues to taunt Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). Last Thursday, Samsung launched its Galaxy S4 months ahead of Apple's iPhone 5S refresh. Now the Korean-tech giant is going after Apple's new innovative products - namely the iWatch.
Samsung confirmed that it too is working on a wristwatch mobile product and claims it has been in development for a long time.
"We've been preparing the watch product for so long," Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung's mobile business, told Bloomberg during an interview in Seoul. "We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them."
Hee wouldn't comment on the features of the device or a time-frame when it will go on sale. This is something Apple executives might say is because they want to strip down the Apple device first.
In summary, Samsung is going after Apple in the high-end smartphone market and every single other market the company has hopes of entering.
