Nearly Half of Existing Apple (AAPL) iPhone Users Will Upgrade Immediately

September 6, 2013 3:56 PM EDT
With Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) looking to release its next-generation iPhone on September 10th, just how string is the demand.

According to Ask.com, about half of existing iPhone owners plan to upgrade to the new device immediately. Not the following week, or maybe before the end of the year.

Immediately.

Ask.com polled 4,000 iPhone owners and 46 percent were making the upgrade right away. In addition, about 60 percent said they prefer the more-expensive iPhone model versus a speculated lower-cost version.

Top on users' lists for features was better battery life. Least desired was an improved Siri. (Maybe Siri is already perfect?)

Though its a small sample of the total iPhone user base, it's a positive to see that people aren't satisfied with the iPhone 5 and are looking to the next best thing out of Cupertino, CA.

Shares of Apple are up 0.4 percent Friday into the close.
