Etsy (ETSY) to Begin Testing New Manufacturing Partnership Initiative

Etsy (Nasdaq: ETSY) is launching a dedicated manufacturing portal.
According to the site's FAQ, Etsy Manufacturing is "a new marketplace that helps designers and manufacturers build responsible partnerships."
The initiative will launch in beta later in 2015.
On reasoning behind the move, Etsy said, With Etsy Manufacturing, we want to help our sellers and manufacturers forge responsible partnerships. It's all part of our vision for an Etsy Economy, where creative entrepreneurs find meaningful work and both global and local markets for their goods, and where thoughtful consumers discover and buy unique goods and build relationships with the people who sell them.
Shares of Etsy are flat in early trading.
