CSCO/EMC Rumors Bring Skeptics

July 1, 2005 3:08 PM EDT
UPDATE: It seems the Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) buying EMC (NYSE: EMC) rumor, reported earlier, is getting some chuckles in certain corners of Wall Street today (the ones that aren't empty). Traders cite the fact that Cisco generally makes small tech company acquisitions, not mega-buys.

While the rumor may seem far-fetched the writer of the article at www.SearchStorage.com made a couple good points and "things they are a changing" in the tech world, so nothing would really surprise us at this point. Also, the fact that EMC is now being mentioned as being in-play could actually bring some serious buyers to the table. How much currency does Sun Micro (Nasdaq: SUNW) have left after its recent buying spree?
