Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) is putting the kibosh on its TV ad model...at least, for now.
According to the venerable Internet search giant, Google TV Ads in AdWords will close over the next few months as more and more users switch from traditional TV to digital content.
Google noted: "We’ll be doubling down on video solutions for our clients (like YouTube, AdWords for Video, and ad serving tools for web video publishers). We also see opportunities to help users access web content on their TV screens, through products like Google TV."
Shares of Google are indicated lower Friday.
