Apple (AAPL) iPhone 5 Shipment Times Now Down to Days

December 4, 2012 11:21 AM EST
Apple, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) is making some significant headway with getting its iPhone 5 into consumer hands following panel production challenges hit during launch of the device.

Data compiled by CNET today shows wait times for Apple's online store have shipments of two to four days, down markedly from three to four weeks at launch and two to three weeks just a few weeks back.

Notably, some Apple stores are reporting strong stockpiles.

On Monday, Apple announced a broader launch of its iPhone 5, getting it into key markets like China, Brazil, the UAE, and other markets sooner than most expected.

Sterne Agee's Shaw Wu says demand for the device remains high. Canaccord Genuity backed up that sentiment on Monday, after conducting its own checks.

Amid the news, Apple shares are a little pressured Tuesday, down 2 percent for the session.
