Apple (AAPL) Launching Large Screen iPod Touch In Late 2009

Three independent sources told Mike Arrington's Techcrunch that Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) will likely launch a large screen iPod Touch device in the Fall '09. This device will have a 7 or 9 inch screen and Apple is currently talking to various OEMs in Asia about mass production. However, prototypes of this Large Screen Apple iPod Touch have been seen by one of Techcrunch's sources.

The source said that Apple has been testing large form tablet devices for years, but Apple was concerned customers wouldn't be interested in such a large device. However, Apple's extremely popular iTunes app store now has thousands of games and other apps that may be perfect for such a large touch screen device.

Arrington is quick to point out that Apple tablet rumors have been around for years, but he reiterates his highly trusted sources are saying Apple is currently planning to launch such a device and one of his sources has actually held the large form Apple iPod Touch.
