Airline Stocks In Spotlight Following Attempted Christmas Terror Attack

Airline stocks could be volatile today following an attempted terrorist attack on Christmas aboard a Northwest Airline flight from Amsterdam to Detroit.

In the final minutes of flight 253 Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, 23, a Nigerian man from a prominent family, spent 20 minutes in the bathroom and upon returning to his seat complained of an upset stomach. He then put a blanket over his head and attempted to light an explosive device. The blanket caught of fire and then Abdulmutallab was apprehended by other passengers.
