Sources Already Speculating as to What Apple (AAPL) Will Unveil at Fall Special Event

According to a report from All Things Digital on Thursday, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) will once again be holding a fall special event, possibly in mid-September this year.

The fall event last year saw the return of Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs following his medical leave of absence and mostly-music oriented announcements, including the introduction of iTunes 9.

Following the launch of the iPad and the iPhone 4 so far this year, speculation has abounded with possibilities including an updated version of the iPod Touch to include some of the features debuted on the new iPhone 4.

Apple could rejuvenate the iPod by adding the front-and-rear-facing cameras to allow for the use of FaceTime via Wi-Fi, a service for video conferencing. The company could also boost the power of the iPod Touch by adding an A4 processor.

Other rumors have Apple announcing some details about an updated version of Apple TV, a smaller iPad and maybe a streaming music service, according to All Things Digital.

Shares of Apple are up $1.86 to $252.05 in late market movement Thursday.
