Atmel Corp (NASDAQ: ATML) has re-opened for trading following after Microchip Technology (NASDAQ: MCHP) and ON Semiconductor (NASDAQ: ONNN) sent a proposal to the Board of Directors of Atmel to acquire the company for $5.00 per share in cash.
Atmel's board said they will review the proposal.
Shares of Atmel are currently up 23% to $4.05.
