Weekly Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index at -41.9, Versus 39.7.
Consumer confidence slid back into its danger zone this week, extending a slow but steady six-week retreat that has brought the Bloomberg Consumer Comfort index to its lowest in more than two months.
At -41.9 on its scale of -100 to +100, the CCI is back in the -40s, the level associated with severe economic discontent, for the first time since late May.
