US Flash PMI Signals Growth In Manufacturing

May 24, 2012 9:41 AM EDT
U.S. Flash PMI hit at a three month low in May, according to a new data released issued by Mark-it Economics. The Flash PMI number came in at 53.9 falling from 56 in April, but still above 50, which signals solid manufacturing growth, albeit at a slowing pace.

"Irrespective of the slow down in May, manufacturing remains a bright spot in the otherwise lackluster global picture", said analysts at Markit. "However unless demand picks up, the slowdown may continue into June, and payroll growth will suffer as a result."
