  • iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN
(VXX) down 2.42% to $39.57. The CBOE VIX near-term volatility index is lower today, following an announcement late yesterday that saw President Obama prolong expiration of the Bush tax cuts for another 24-months.

Investors are looking for a little more risk today, and exiting their gold holdings to put a little extra cash back into the market, upon Bush tax cut extension.
