Vuzix Corporation (Nasdaq: VUZI) announced that the company will commence commercial shipments of the M300 this month. The M300 is well into its final stages of regulatory testing and approval. The testing labs will have completed the EU testing and filings by November 18th and the US testing and filings expected to be within the week afterwards. As soon as filings have been made for a given geographical area, commercial volume shipments can commence, which should occur before the end of November in all major markets. For the interim we are manufacturing M300 products with our contract manufacturing house in California and optimizing the performance of our included software and operating shell.
The Vuzix M300, which recently won Compass Intelligence's Enterprise Wearable Device of the Year award, represents the next generation of smart glasses, designed to address customer feedback from more than two years of productive use of the earlier design of the Vuzix M100.
The advanced ergonomic design and more powerful features of the new Vuzix M300 enables enterprise users to operate in an increasing number of situations and accomplish even more complex use cases. For detailed M300 specifications, click here.
To-date, in addition to orders from end customers tool providers and system integrators, the Company currently has pending orders from hundreds of unique VAR customers for the M300, each of whom is building a business around Vuzix Smart Glasses for the Enterprise markets.
With an ecosystem of application software for the M300 already in place, the demand to obtain and deploy the M300 will likely outpace the supply of the initial launch. Vuzix VIP Partners who have been working with pre-production M300 devices, have their applications ready for immediate deployment on the M300, and make up the majority of M300 preorders to serve their existing client base. Along with the VIP demand, hundreds of M100 to M300 migration packages and direct M300 pre-orders have been placed. Vuzix will soon unveil a pre-order program for the full public production launch. This will be closely followed by the rollout of M300 accessories, SDK program, and developer programs to round out the product launch.
