FingerMotion, Inc. (NASDAQ: FNGR) announced plans to develop modular edge computing facilities designed for artificial intelligence processing and inference workloads, according to a company statement.
The Singapore-based mobile services and technology company said the initiative builds upon its existing telecommunications platform and represents an extension of its infrastructure strategy. The company stated it will focus on edge-based AI inference infrastructure rather than large-scale cloud data center development.
"As AI adoption accelerates across industries, we believe demand for localized inference infrastructure will continue to grow," said Martin Shen, CEO of FingerMotion. "Our strategy is focused on developing scalable edge computing solutions that can be deployed efficiently and expanded as demand increases."
The company said it plans to use modular, self-contained AI compute units that can be deployed incrementally based on customer demand and regional requirements. These units are intended to support distributed AI workloads requiring real-time processing in environments where latency and localized processing are priorities.
FingerMotion said its proposed infrastructure design incorporates modular data center architecture powered by localized micro-grid energy systems. The company stated this approach may reduce deployment timelines compared to traditional large-scale data center projects, which can require multiple years due to permitting, construction, and utility infrastructure requirements.
The company said the edge infrastructure initiative is expected to complement its technology ecosystem while creating additional opportunities for recurring infrastructure-related revenue streams. FingerMotion currently operates mobile payment and recharge platform solutions in China.
