Amtech Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: ASYS) announced a new order totaling approximately $2 million for thermal processing and automation systems from the solar cell industry. The order is a follow-on order from an Asian-based customer who is a leading supplier of solar wafers to the industry as well as a manufacturer of photovoltaic cells, modules and application systems.
The order is expected to ship in the fiscal quarter ending March 31, 2007.
Amtech has received approximately $9 million of solar orders, including this most recent order, during the last 12 months, a 500% increase over the preceding 12 month period.
