Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is lower in early trading, but could be heading higher following a key management acquisition made reently.
According to TechCrunch (TC), Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Engineering Director for Maps, Raj Shah, has left the company to join rival Microsoft. Shah will join Microsoft Online Services Division to work on Bing Maps.
TC notes that part of Shah's job was to gather global mapping data and integrated it into Maps. He also built Google's Engineering Center in India and has vast tech experience stretching back to the 1990s.
Given the competitive nature of the mapping business, Microsoft hopes Shah can work the same magic with its mapping platform.
