High-Res Images of Several Apple (AAPL) iPhone 5S Components Leak

May 16, 2013 10:48 AM EDT
Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) will not only look new with its next iteration, but it will also contain many new internal parts.

BoyGeniusReport (BGR) today obtained "high-resolution" images of several new components expected to be included in the next iPhone (tentatively named the iPhone 5S). Parts include a loud-speaker bracket, ear speaker bracket, vibrating motor assembly, Wi-Fi flex cable ribbon, and SIM card tray for the next handset.

Notably, the SIM card tray came in two colors: grey and gold/beige. The parts might hint at multiple colors for the next device. With Nokia's (NYSE: NOK) Lumia series, BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) recently announcing plans to have handsets in multiple colors, and Apple itself offering its iPod Touch and other devices in multiple colors, it only makes sense that Apple might break the mold and add a red, blue, or yellow iPhone to the lineup in the future. Maybe one that even has color-changing capability for its case could be in the works.

Shares of Apple are up about 0.7 percent Thursday.
