A few Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) analysts have weighed in on the new iPad, some more impressed than others.

Jefferies' Peter Misek said the announcement was as expected and notes the chip appears to be dual-core with quad-core graphics. He noted the lack of Siri, but expects Siri support in future software. On the name "The New iPad" versus "iPad 3," he said this could suggest coming updates mainly by software, rather than hardware.

Piper Jaffray's Gen Munster was a little more upbeat on the refresh, calling it a "significant upgrade." He also liked the new price point on the iPad 2, which he said is a strong defense move that won't cannibalize sales of the new version.
