Interchange Fee Legislation The average interchange fee in the U.S. is seven times the interchange fee set by Visa and MasterCard in countries throughout the rest of the world. Using 2008 figures, if the interchange fee charged by credit card issuers was decreased (via comprehensive credit card reform legislation) from the current 2.10% to 0.60%, the result would be an annual savings of approximately $34.3 billion for U.S. merchants and consumers. Credit card issuers could retain 0.3% as a processing fee, the remaining 0.3% could be a "tax" used to fund a Natural Disaster Trust Fund (NDTF). In 2008, this would have generated $6.86 billion in funding for a NDTF. Let's be clear. The interchange fee is a hidden tax, just not a tax subject to political control or for which there is any discernible social benefit. Decreasing, and imposing a transparent tax on, the interchange fee would have the same stimulus effect of a tax break, but without an impact on the federal budget. The following article discusses how comprehensive, standardized, simplified, and transparent credit card reform legislation may fund a Natural Disaster Trust Fund. http://www.csnews.com/csnews/images/pdf/creditcardreform.pdf

What's wrong with visa? I need someone to help me please, I would like to know what's wrong with visa stock?. I have been following visa since ipo, since it's became into ipo i never heard anything bad about visa expect lawsuit. Recently, i am really mad with visa activity because there's so many good news with visa. 1. Insider buying so active; for example Joseph Saunders - Chairman, CEO bought so much shares and also he bought some shares under his sun name. 2. Recently CEO said visa going to meet the target even at recession period. 3. Recently they have launched mobile payment system it's going to good for them. 4. When they came to IPO they want to over come master card and American express where they compete with them. I think they did that; for example I am from Canada, here 4/5 bank issues visa and even recently they introduced new visa type card which is infinite card which is they charge merchant higher fee...it's actually when a customer swipe the inifite visa card by a customer at the merchant place...visa telling that to the merchant those with infinite card they have higher income so they will spend more money at the merchant place...that's what american expresss was doing so long....i believe visa have done something to compete with amex. 5. When analyst downgrade visa it's goes down big but when a analyst upgrade visa doesn't act the same way?. 6. All the institution who hold visa mostly bought above 70 for example top holder FMR LLC own around 49 million shares where they bought 42 million shares between $79 to $82.27 and another 7 million around $52 to $58. Ever since FMR LLC first bought it's going down....these guy's sold master card and then they bought visa...as u guy's know that what ever stock these guy's hold had good run past years like master card, potash, and Google. 7. The stock value's are paper value, it's easy for market movers to move up, whey they aren't moving it up?. They have nothing to loose.... of 410 million shares 307 millions in the institution hands..there's under 100 millions shares in the public... isn't it easy to move it up? or is any body selling the visa stock right who might got it ipo...who got scared that visa tested ipo price...so it might go below like Goldman?. 8. I think one visa dragged down because of master card they had bad earning on july...so it's kind moving close to master card but recently visa is not like that and it's should do better than master card. 9. Of all the stock i follow visa have releasing corporate news every other day which is a good news. But market doesn't consider that news. why? After reading my opinion about visa can any one give me a proper answer why visa so trading under valued and what's wrong with visa. Is it setting up for a big move after the january 28 earning?. And also why recently so less number analyst covering visa used to be 22 now 19....what's wrong?...I am really don't know what to do with visa, where i am hearing good think about visa but the stock behave opposite direction? I am hoping somebody will answer my question in this discussion board, i really appreciate for reading my thoughts and it might be help for u guy's why visa is a buy? please e-mail me your comments at nbt420@hotmail.com Thank you.

Visa The recent drop in V and MA is due mostly to the proposal by Senetor Durbin to create a 3-judge panel within the anti-trust division of the Commerce Deparment as an option for merchants to negotiate interchange fees (e.g., government price-fixing). However, the proposal is DOA according to the Washington insider scuttlebutt; and just like congressional hearings on gas prices, is just a sham staged for public consumption to make the common dolts out there believe their goverment is looking out for them. This too shall pass within a few weeks, and no such legislation will ever so much as sniff the voting floor. Visa: $90+ in August, $110+ by Christmas.

Buy Visa I bought 1,000 shares between 65 and 85. I just wish I had more money because I would buy a lot more. This stock is gonna be easy money for anyone with patience. Like Master Card, Visa assumes no risk. They get paid every time there's a transaction. More and more people are using Visa debit cards for everyday shopping. I try to avoid using cash whenever possible.
