Ford Ford is selling cars that make money. They have totally restructured their product with restyling, focusing on fuel efficiency, quality, and technology. If you remember back a couple months ago (maybe even a year) Ford paid off large debt of 3.2 Billion dollars (or something to that tune). Ford IS making money because they would no longer be in the buisness if they weren't. Steve, you seem to be stuck on the Ford of the early 2000's get updated with the Ford of today.

Ford The Problem is Ford is selling cars they don't make any money on, and even with a brief interuption in the downward spiral of truck and SUV sales it will be hard for Ford to make money to payoff their massive debt. Debt holders will probably be forced to convert to equity and therefore dilute the stock even further.

I Don't Qualify I don't qualify because my car already gets good gas mileage. But my dad swears by the car buying process here for a good deal: http://excarsalesman.typepad.com I have a feeling dealers are going to automatically increase prices because of the increased demand (artificial) for great MPG cars. So the thousands of savings from this bill for consumers is not entirely accurate. With the price increase, I'm certain some markets you'll come out even as if they never offered this voucher. It is poorly written legislation.
