Canaccord Genuity Morning Coffee on Burger King Worldwide (NYSE: BKW): Beer and fast food…GREAT IDEA!!

The Beer Business Daily is reporting that Burger King is continuing to fight the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages in an effort to launch BK Whopper Bars which would sell beer and wine in certain outlets. Burger king was declined a permit to sell due to overlap between the company and Anheuser-Busch (NYSE: BUD), as the Division found, "Whopper Bars was an impermissible affiliate of Anheuser-Busch." Burger King opened Whopper Bars in Miami, Las Vegas and Kansas City last year as it and other fast food shops look to add alcohol to their offering. Starbucks (Nasdaq: SBUX) started selling local beer and wine in some Seattle stores last year and Sonic (Nsadaq: SONC) is looking to offer its clients beer with their burgers."
