All Proceeds from Driving to Donate Tournament Directly Support 24/7 Hotline

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) announced today that its annual Driving to Donate Charity Golf Tournament raised more than $195,000, exceeding last year’s record total of $185,000. For nearly 10 years Driving to Donate has raised more than $915,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association MN-ND, a non-profit that offers advocacy and care consultation for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. The event has become one of Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s top Twin Cities’ charity golf tournaments.

One hundred percent of the tournament proceeds will go to support the 24/7 Alzheimer’s Association Helpline, which provides personal support to individuals, family members, caregivers and others impacted by the disease.

“Allianz Life employees and our vendors have an unwavering dedication to fighting Alzheimer’s disease and dementia,” said Allianz Life General Counsel Gretchen Cepek. Cepek serves on the Alzheimer’s Association MN-ND board. “I am grateful that our contributions will be used to provide resources for victims of this horrible disease.”

Approximately 300 Allianz Life employees and vendor partners participated in the 2015 tournament, which was held at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn. Participants raised money through the golf outing, employee and vendor donations, raffle ticket sales and an online auction. Key partners that donated were presenting sponsor Carlton Fields Jorden Burt, LLP and 19th hole sponsors Faegre Baker Daniels, Quality Resource Group, Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, Tata Consultancy Services and ThreeBridge Solutions.

Help – Just a Phone Call Away

The Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline provides reliable information and assistance to individuals coping with memory loss and all others who may need support. Aside from helping callers better understand memory loss, dementia and the Alzheimer’s disease, master’s level clinicians offer further information on treatment choices, care, legal and financial references as well as living-arrangement options.

"The work done by Allianz Life employees and their vendors is an example of the positive impact that others can make on a non-profit organization,” said Susan Spalding, chief executive officer of the Alzheimer’s Association MN-ND Chapter. “The determination and enthusiasm of this group makes partnering with them so special. We are proud to work with Allianz Life to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by dementia."
