VIVUS, Inc. (VVUS) Posts Q2 Loss of 25c/Share

VIVUS, Inc. (NASDAQ: VVUS) reported Q2 EPS of ($0.25), $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.28). Revenue for the quarter came in at $21.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $17.9 million.

There were approximately 138,000 Qsymia prescriptions dispensed in the second quarter of 2014, compared to 121,000 prescriptions in the first quarter of 2014 and 81,000 in the second quarter of 2013.
