Sonic Automotive Inc. (SAH) Misses Q2 EPS by 2c

Sonic Automotive Inc. (NYSE: SAH) reported Q2 EPS of $0.51, $0.02 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.53. Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.35 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.37 billion.

Highlights:

• New retail gross profit up 10.9% on a 3.4% increase in unit sales volume
• New retail vehicle revenue up $83.5 million, or 7.0%
• All-time record pre-owned sales of 28,514 units in Q2 2014
• Pre-owned vehicle revenue up $64.9 million, or 12.0%
• Pre-owned unit sales per store per month reached 100 units in May 2014 and 93 units for Q2 2014
