HD Supply Holdings (HDS) Tops Q1 EPS by 2c; Prelim. May Sales Up 9.6%

HD Supply Holdings (NASDAQ: HDS) reported Q1 EPS of $0.20, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.18. Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.16 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.15 billion.

Preliminary Net sales in May were $712 million which represents 9.6 percent growth versus prior year. There were 19 selling days in May and average daily sales were up 9.6 percent versus prior year. Preliminary May year-over-year average daily sales growth by business is Facilities Maintenance 8.6 percent, Waterworks 12.3 percent, Power Solutions 6.4 percent, and Construction & Industrial - White Cap 13.7 percent.

HD Supply Holdings sees Q2 2014 EPS of $0.42-$0.49, versus the consensus of $0.48. HD Supply Holdings sees Q2 2014 revenue of $2.35-2.45 billion, versus the consensus of $2.41 billion.
