Chicos FAS, Inc. (CHS) Misses Q3 EPS by 2c; Comps Down 1.4%

Chicos FAS, Inc. (NYSE: CHS) reported Q3 EPS of $0.22, $0.02 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.24. Revenue for the quarter came in at $655.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $662.7 million.

Comparable sales for the third quarter decreased 1.4% following a 9.9% increase in last year's third quarter, primarily reflecting the cycling of strong comparable sales last year and the impact of lower traffic.

The Chico's/Soma Intimates brands' comparable sales decreased 3.3% following an 11.6% increase in last year's third quarter for a two-year stack of up 8.3% and the White House | Black Market brand's comparable sales increased 2.5% on top of a 6.4% increase in last year's third quarter for a two-year stack of up 8.9%.
