"due to the uncertainty surrounding oil prices and legislative action, we believe it is prudent to widen the band of our earnings forecast for the 2006 fiscal year. Even if no legislation is passed and additional plants are idled, we estimate that Headwaters' fully diluted earnings per share should be in the range of $2.00 to $2.70 per share" The current consensus is $2.64.
Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd. (NYSE: STP) 13% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.12, 3 cents better than estimates. Revenues were $89.9 million vs. $77.56 million consensus. STP sees Q2 revenues between $110 - $117 million vs. consensus of $105.24 million consensus.
SFBC International Inc. (Nasdaq: SFCC) 10.6% HIGHER; plans to cease all of its operations in Florida, including its Miami and Ft. Myers facilities. In addition, the Company announced today that the Miami-Dade County Unsafe Structures Board failed to issue an extension for reviewing the plans submitted by the Company related to its planned structural improvements to the Miami facility.
Ctrip.com Int'l (Nasdaq: CTRP) 10.6% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.23, 4 cents better than estimates.(0.19) Revenues were $19 million vs. $17.47 million consensus. For the second quarter of 2006, Ctrip expects to continue strong year-on-year net revenue growth of approximately 40%.
Sears Holdings Corporation (Nasdaq: SHLD) 9.5% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $1.14, versus the consensus of $0.64 (may not be comparable). Revenues came in at $12 billion, versus $7.6 billion for the same period in 2005.
Kongzhong Corp. (Nasdaq: KONG) 8.6% HIGHER; reports Q1 (non-GAAP) EPS of $0.22, 2 cents better than estimates. Revenues were $27.91 million vs. $24.47 million consensus. KONG sees Q2 (non-GAAP) EPS between $0.23-0.24 vs. $0.18 consensus.
Napster (Nasdaq: NAPS) 7% LOWER; Reports a Q4 loss of $0.17, better than the consensus of a $0.35 loss. Revenues were $26.8 million vs. $25.32 million consensus. Sees Q1 revenues of $25-$28 million versus the consensus of $26.6 million.
Synopsys (Nasdaq: SNPS) 5% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.17, 2 cents better than estimates.(0.15) Revenues were $274.8 million vs. 266.05 million consensus. GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME) 3.8% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.15, versus the consensus of $0.10. Revenues came in at $1.04 billion versus the consensus of $1.03 billion. Excluding projected stock-based compensation, second quarter diluted earnings per share are expected to range from $0.08 to $0.09, versus the consensus of $0.07. Excluding projected stock-based compensation, full year diluted earnings per share are now expected to range from $2.10 to $2.20, versus the consensus of $1.90.
JDSU (Nasdaq: JDSU) 3.3% HIGHER; Needham upgrades to Buy
McCormick & Schmick's (Nasdaq: MSSR) 3.3% LOWER; announced the public offering by certain of its stockholders of 2,351,489 shares of the Company's common stock.
Zumiez, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZUMZ) 2% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.04, 2 cents better than estimates.(0.02) Revenues were $47.8 million vs. $44.22 million consensus. Raises Fiscal 2006 EPS Guidance to $0.65 to $0.66, versus the consensus of $0.62.
Shanda Interactive (Nasdaq: SNDA) 1.4% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.02, versus the consensus of $0.07. Revenues were $42.6 million vs. $39.77 million consensus.
Barnes & Noble Inc. (NYSE: BKS) 1.2% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.14, 1 cent better than estimates. Revenues were $1.1 billion vs. $1.14 billion consensus. Excluding a $0.04 per share impact due to stock compensation expense, first quarter net earnings were $0.18 per share, representing a 31% increase compared to the prior year.
