Rite Aid (RAD) Posts Q2 EPS of 3c; Raises FY14 EPS Outlook

Rite Aid (NYSE: RAD) reported Q2 EPS of $0.03, $0.07 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.04). Revenue for the quarter came in at $6.3 billion versus the consensus estimate of $6.27 billion.
Same store sales for the quarter increased 1.0 percent over the prior year 13-week period, consisting of a 1.7 percent increase in pharmacy sales, partially offset by a 0.3 percent decrease in front end sales.
Rite Aid sees FY2014 EPS of $0.18-$0.27, versus the consensus of $0.16.
