UFP Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: UFPT) 96.6% HIGHER; Company reported a profit of $574,000, or $0.11 per diluted common share outstanding for its first quarter, versus a net profit of $85,000, or $0.02 per diluted share in last year's first quarter. Sales for the quarter increased 33% to a record $24.1 million, from $18.2 million in the first quarter of 2005.
Escala Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ESCL) 52.7% LOWER; Reports from Bloomberg, Spanish police raided the office of stamp investment companies Forum Filatelico and Afinsa Bienes Tangible SA as part of a fraud probe. Afinsa is the parent of Escala Group.
National Medical Health Card Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: NMHC) 26.2% LOWER; Reports Q3 EPS of $0.27, 2 cents worse than estimates. Revenues were $215.7 million vs. $223.73 million consensus. Management has lowered its previously issued guidance, reflecting third quarter results and revised outlook for the balance of fiscal 2006. In addition, the company is now providing net income guidance, rather than earnings per share, to maintain consistency following the change in diluted share calculation.
Glenayre Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: GEMS) 22.6% LOWER; reports a Q1 loss of $0.10, 7 cents worse than estimates. Revenues were $86.4 million vs. $82.4 million consensus. Late last week we were notified by Sprint Nextel that we will no longer be included in their voicemail vendor selection process. As a result of this decision and a soft domestic market we are adjusting Messaging's 2006 revenue outlook to equal or slightly less than revenues achieved in 2005.
