Gaiam (GAIA) Dumps 6M Real Goods Solar (RSOL) Shares; Rysavy Resigns as Chairman

Real Goods Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ: RSOL) is indicated lower Wednesday after announcing after the close that Gaiam, Inc. (NASDAQ: GAIA) sold approximately six million shares of Real Goods Solar, Inc. for net proceeds of $16.4 million. Following these transactions, Gaiam continues to own approximately 4.1 million shares of Real Goods Solar's common stock.
Separately, Real Goods Solar announced that Jirka Rysavy resigned from his position as a director and chairman of the board of the company. Mr. Rysavy has served as the chairman of the company's board of directors since its inception. Mr. Rysavy is also the founder of Gaiam, Inc., which in 1999 founded Gaiam Energy Tech as its solar division. That company became Real Goods Solar when it went public in 2008.
